OpenAI
ChatGPT inside BridgeLink for faster channel development and test data.
Why it matters
An AI pair-programmer for your channels.
Writing and debugging channel JavaScript can be slow, and building realistic test messages by hand is tedious. The OpenAI plugin brings ChatGPT directly into the BridgeLink administrator tool, so engineers can debug, explain, and optimize their code without leaving the channel, and generate standardized HL7 messages on demand. It uses powerful AI models that understand complex code, saving time across development and interface testing.
Capabilities
What it does.
JavaScript debugger
Get AI-powered suggestions to debug, optimize, and explain the JavaScript in your channels, right inside the tool.
HL7 message generator
Generate standardized HL7 messages such as ADT, ORU, and ORM by message type, event, and count to streamline interface testing.
How it works
Get started in minutes.
- 1
Add your OpenAI API key
Create a secret key in the OpenAI console and add billing credits, then enter the key under Settings > OpenAI and pick your preferred model.
- 2
Ask about your code
Copy a transformer step, code template, or global script and use Talk to OpenAI to debug, explain, or optimize it.
- 3
Generate test messages
Open the message generator, choose a message type, event type, and count, and get standardized HL7 messages for testing.
Requirements
What you'll need.
- An OpenAI account with an API key
- Billing credits on your OpenAI account
- Your preferred OpenAI model selected in BridgeLink settings
- Pre-installed on the AWS Marketplace 'Advanced with SSL' editions (version 4.5 and later), or installed manually
FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
What can the code debugger do?
Highlight any channel JavaScript and ask OpenAI to debug it for errors, explain what it does in plain terms, or suggest optimizations.
Where does it work inside BridgeLink?
On transformer steps, code templates, and global scripts, through the Talk to OpenAI option in the administrator tool.
What messages can it generate?
Standardized HL7 messages such as ADT, ORU, and ORM, by message type, event type, and count, to streamline interface testing.
Do I need my own OpenAI account?
Yes. You supply your own OpenAI API key and billing, so usage runs on your account and under your control.
Which models can I use?
Select your preferred OpenAI model in Settings > OpenAI, and the plugin uses the model you choose.
Availability
